But but but...it's the weekend!

Looks like this weekend is going to be incredibly busy for me. In addition to trying out a new belly dance studio, I'm going to be putting together a proposal for the guide book and applying for some technical writing positions.

I found a couple that I really want to look into. I'm looking forward to moving back to the Inner Loop so that I can be closer to my (eventual) dance studio, but in the meantime it's resumes and interviews.

Looks like the new blog has already brought me some good Karma. I found a posting looking for travel writers, and I sent off a couple of clips. I've got my fingers crossed.

I feel like such a ninny. While I was trying to run spell checker on my first post, I thought it wasn't working. It turns out Firefox was blocking the popup and it works just fine.

Inaugural post

*fresh new shiny paper*

This is my first foray into maintaining a professional blog dedicated to my writing career. I've been thinking about starting a site dedicated to this (instead of jumbling up personal things in my posts). The grand plan is to keep this blog separate from all of that.

Let's hope that actually works.

I'm really excited about my upcoming projects. I've been trying like crazy to make some progress on my romance novel. A side project (that I've put on hold as of last week) distracted me, and now that I decided not to pursue it I'm going to go right back to the novel as soon as my mother's visit to Houston is over.

The romance, outline and rough draft has is going well. I want to make it to the next RWA meeting so that I can meet up with some people and get feedback from them. There are several people in my current writer's group who are active RWA members, so it will feel pretty familiar when I make it to a meeting.
